The Electrical Installation and Maintenance is part of the Technical-Vocational track and it was an industrial art. The students are specialized with analysing signs, electrical symbols and data, interpretation of technical drawings and plans, maintaining of electric hydraulic tools, installation of electric metallic tubing, wire ways and cable trays; installing telephone terminal cabinet, cable Bridge. And also the selection of wiring devices used for floor and ground fault current interrupter which is based from the Philippine Electrical Code standards. (MFI FOUNDATION, 2014) The Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM) strand aims to prepare students with skills and abilities when it comes to electrical industry. This strand consists of laboratory activities to show the effectiveness of developing the Electrical Installation and Maintenance students' skills essential to the field of electrical. Every student begins with the basic fundamentals of electricity and wiring of simple circuits, then will proceed to the advanced phases which are the residential interior wiring, the alternating current power, and wiring of more complex circuits and equipment. For the National Electrical Code, emphasis when it comes to working on wirings should be applied. The electrical installation and maintenance are a qualification that is composed of three competencies: basic competencies, common competencies, and core competencies. The core competency has also its units of competencies that is comprises with different elements or topics. One of the units of competency is Perform roughing-in activities, wiring and cabling works for single-phase distribution, power, lighting and auxiliary systems (TR-EIM NC II, TESDA Act 1994). Modular instruction is an unconventional instructional strategy that uses developed instructional materials which are based on the needs of the students. Flores (2010) stressed that instructional materials in the classroom are most effective tools to catch up the interest and understanding of the students and help teachers to teach better. The quest to provide quality education is a never-ending encounter. Enhancing existing instructional materials is one among the effective strategies in updating trends and providing modernized technique and information. The researcher's exertion to bung up the gaps by promoting additional concept about enhanced module as a useful method to improve the performance of students in a particular concept in TLE 10 specifically in Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM) with the current situation and utilization of module theories as instructional tools. The study also provided an assessment of the effectiveness of the enhance module, its effect on the pretest and posttest performance of the students.

In this study, we investigate the level of electrical skills among Grade 12 students enrolled in the Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM) program at San Pascual Senior High School 1. Our main goal is to assess how proficient these students are in different aspects of electrical skills and identify areas that may need further improvement. By conducting practical assessments, written tests, and surveys, we collect data to understand their theoretical knowledge and practical application of electrical concepts. This research aimed to explore the results of the evaluation of Electrical Installation Training of the Technical Support Unit of Employment Training Center of Pandeglang Regency based on aspects including context, input, process, product, and outcome, so that recommendation can be obtained for the next training. This study employed a qualitative descriptive method. The CIPPO evaluation model was used in this study. The results indicated that while the setting, process, and product elements could be classified as satisfactory, the input and outcome aspects remained in the poor category. Nonetheless, even with remaining limitations in terms of input and implementation outcomes, the training program can run well. This electrical installation training can be extended by strengthening program components on the input side, particularly facilities and infrastructure, as well as on the output side, in order to maximize labor absorption and reduce unemployment.

Factors Affecting the Performance of Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM) Learners on Laboratory Classes

INTRODUCTION

This study focuses on investigating the factors that affect the performance of the public senior high school learners in taking the Technical Vocational and Livelihood track specifically the Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM) in their laboratory classes.

This research used a descriptive-qualitative design. Through a set of questionnaires, the currently enrolled 26 grade 12 EIM learners expressed their insights and experiences on the factors that affect their performance in their laboratory class.

According to them, having a big class does not affect their performance negatively. On the other hand, having inadequate facilities, tools, and other electrical materials affected them negatively. Also, poor sanitation of the learning environment gave them inconvenience while working on their tasks. They also emphasized that social and emotional factors such as peer pressure, family conflict, negative behavior, and the like affect them to achieve the goal of learning. Having an efficient teacher in the class made them perform well.

DISCUSSIONS

The education system needs to consider all the factors that affect the holistic development of the learners.
