Additional observations Presentation Parish is a parish of the Diocese of Stockton. It was established in 1952, before the diocese was formed in 1962. An arsonist burned down the church in 1999; the current church opened in 2001. The Diocese of Stockton filed for bankruptcy in 2014 (and granted in 2017) under its previous bishop, Stephen Blaire, related to costs of sexual abuse lawsuits against diocesan clergy. One of the lawsuits involved a previous pastor of Presentation who was also Vicar General of the diocese, who was accused of “sexting” a pool maintenance contract employee ( https://fox40.com/news/local-news/high-ranking-stockton-priest-accused-of-sending-sexually-explicit-pictures-to-parishioner/ and https://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2016/08/13/man-claims-he-was-fired-after-catholic-priest-sent-explicit-text-message/ ).

A lot of mass on sundays. Good location. Very nice community. Gos is everywhere there are two or more people in his name.
Love Father Mark Wagner. He was our priest at another large parish. Despite the extreme Busyness at this parish, Father Mark took much time to administer to me through a tough time. He is well loved and missed!
Too much music on the Sunday 2:15 spanish masses, the group plays like 10 songs in every time and they're super long. I feel like I'm going to a gospel concert.
Wish I could give zero stars, Mark Wagner (never refer to him as Father), is a farce, as Christians we need to pray for him...should respectfully drop out of the priesthood. Does not care about his congregation. When my family was going through severe personal issues, he turned his back, did not return multiple calls or texts (both personal and to his office). One of the priests responsibilities is to provide pastoral care to their parishioners, he does not. Church of the Presentation is fine, yet it needs a respected leader. Several faith based counselors in the Modesto/Stockton area concur with this opinion...I hope you do not need spiritual guidance, if so look elsewhere...again, pray for him.
If you've been up to, what I've been up to for the past couple of weeks, you'd feel the need to refocus and review your parish too. Um, and that's all I'm saying about that... When I first moved to Stockton, I attended Mass on campus solely for the convenience factor. However, I never really felt at home and wanted to venture out to other parishes. I came across Church of the Presentation during my junior year and immediately felt welcomed into the community. The church itself is up to date and really beautiful because it was renovated a few years ago. I wasn't living in Stockton at the time, but apparently the church was vandalized and set on fire by a man who had ill feelings towards both the church and school back in 1999. Well, that was the past and we're looking into the future now. The Pastor is Msgr. Lawrence McGovern, or Father Larry as he likes to be addressed. I try to attend Masses when he celebrates because his Homilies are well thought out, applicable and comical all at the same time. There are 6 Masses on Sunday, I prefer going to 8:45A because of the contemporary music. 2:00P is celebrated in Spanish, and 5:00P is the Life Teen Mass. The 10:15A Mass also offers a Children's Liturgy during the Gospel and Homily. And Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered on Wednesdays from 6:30-7:00P, and on Saturdays from 9:00-10:00A for all of us sinners. Like I mentioned, Church of the Presentation also has a K-8 school. I don't know much about the curriculum here, but as a former Parochial school student, I like the idea of my children learning in a religious environment. Now go forth and spread the good word of the Lord! :)
My new church, moved to the area a few years ago and this has become a positive place to worship with my growing family. My son goes to catechisms here once a week and he also enjoys his time with the youth.
This review is about a deacon of the church of presentation criticizing aliens invading our country . I went to church there today at 12:15 June 30, 2019 and the deacon during his sermon expressed his condemnation of our government in handling the invasion of this illegal aliens . He said The invaders were being handled inhumanely His ignorance was totally displayed by his comments. if he did his homework he would have found out just the opposite I believe deacons should refrain from giving sermons that are political in nature They should just stick to religion and not profess their opinions on political issues The church is not the place for political sermons. His statements were totally false and not true . Our government have taken care of all the invaders coming from the south. They have fed their babies and children above and beyond what is necessary Actions like this make parishioners refrain from going to church services There are a lot of Catholic parishioners that have stop from attending Services Due to elicit acts and practices committed If you continue along this path you will lose more and more patrons . This should be stopped immediately .
Why does presentation have a Spanish mass on Sunday's at 2:15? How about a Cambodian mass, Vietnamese mass, Filipino mass or Chinese etc etc etc.... It would appreciated very much when Special Services like Baptisms be administered after mass specially during Easter Sundays. It takes about 3.5 hours from the time it starts to the end. Parishioners go to church to hear mass and anything besides that should not be entertained.

Presentation is a stable for Stockton. I was baptized here so coming home after being gone was not a question for me nor for my husband. Our first Sunday back we felt welcomed by many. We were impress with the mass and the father providing the mass. We continued attending church here since and have heard all the fathers provide mass on a weekly bases. Each have their own style and means of getting the point across but have the same ability to get the point across to you and making it real to your own life. We have gotten more active within the community as our time here has grown and we have made friends and met people that have helped us grow. I would say that this is a great church for all ages. There is something for everyone and they are always seeking new ways of making sure that everyone is taken care of and that they feel welcome.
I was baptized here as a baby, and returned back home to Presenation 2 years ago, when my daughter was getting ready to start school at the Parish school. I enjoy the mass here at Church of the Presentation. Each father has their own personal style, they alway have a great story to go along with the scriptures, and make it enjoyable to attend. The members of the church are welcoming and open to speaking to eachother and really make it feel like a place you want to call home and come back to each weekend. To myself and my family it is important that we have a feel of community and we have have that here. It is nice to know people by name and have a smile on their faces because they are happy to be here. I would highly suggest if you are seeking a local church to come and check out our facilities. They have a great pancake breakfast put on by the knights of columbus and the third weekend of each month a welcome doughnut event.
My family and I had been members for years and years. As the years went on this church and it's staff have changed a lot and not in a good way. I have never been treated so horribly by any one or any group of people in my life. We took out kids out of their school and switched churches and I am so happy we did.
I 'm from out of town and I not familiar with the local priest or the pastor of this church but he jokingly said "Filipino's" when describing the Philippian's. there was an awkward silence in the church like i've never heard before. choir was excellent, the female and male soloist were just magnificent. I always have a spiritual experience when beautiful songs are sung. Aside from that one awkward instance, the church is full of energy and I will revisit.
