Kerbal Space Program

Experiment Storage Units can not collect or store duplicate experiments (the same type done in exactly the same biome). Alternative Parts. Four of the high end probe cores have the capabilities of the Experiment Storage Unit built in, so can be used in the exactly the same way, via the same interface options: RC-001S Remote Guidance Unit
What does the experiment storage unit do? Why would I use it over storing everything I have in a capsule with the kerbal? ... it allows unmanned probes to move science from the devices to the storage unit. ... Airbus A350 Full-Scale Replica in KSP 2 7.
Experiment Storage Units are needed for unmanned craft, and can still be useful on a manned craft. They easily grab it all, help store an extra copy if needed for a lab, etc. #4. valenti_scott. May 5, 2020 @ 10:36am Thanks for the replies. This information is very helpful, and the article in the wiki actually makes sense to me now!
that's what I did: my main ship was guided by RC-001S module. The probe was guided by OCTO2. excuse me, but I still cant get it, please be patient. my target is just to store data into something the most lightweight possible and send it back to MPL to get an outstanding amount of science points. To land on kerbin for recover the science data is unnecessary as the small amount of science points ...
Having multiples (2, maybe 3) can still be useful for those experiments which have to be recovered multiple times to give max science (like the gravity scan). Run experiment, run Collect All from Experiment Storage Unit #1, rerun experiment, followed by Collect All on ESU #2.
Experiment storage units, much like manned command pods, can each hold 1 set of non-redundant* science results for recovery. Between those and scientists' ability to refresh goo pods and materials bays, you can end up with a pretty fair operation farming science from some body and sending back probes with experiment storage units.
Storage units seem to be boundless except can only carry 1 of each unique experiment. So, (it seems like) you can have 100s of experiements, but only (for instance) -1- EVA report from a specific biome. You can have 1 EVA report (and every other thing) from multiple biomes, but only one copy of each from each biome; 1 EVA report, 1 surface sample, 1 temperature reading . . .
experiment storage unit limits... is there anything that limits the amount of data that an experiment storage unit can contain? < > Showing 1-2 of 2 comments . Chibbity. Sep 10, 2017 @ 6:22pm I'm pretty sure it can hold an infinite number of results. #1. Jupiter3927. Sep 10, 2017 @ 6:25pm ...
The Experiment Storage Units are very durable though, they will survive re-entry on the outside of a rocket as well. Last edited by Kyle; May 4, 2020 @ 12:28pm #7. valenti_scott. May 4, 2020 @ 12:34pm Thanks, I've been experimenting with unmanned flight by using a OKTO pod. It is smaller than a standard fuel tank, so it doesn't look very ...
Purpose of Experiment Storage Units? I've noticed that anything without a controller is marked as debris, and debris disappear upon landing, so what is the point of Experiment Storage Units if they just disappear with your science? ... Today out of stubbornness or insanity I drove this distance on a ground rover in KSP 2. Here's what I learned:
